Support Young Pregnant Women in Latin America

This piece brings awareness to the high percentage of unplanned pregnancies among Latin American teenage girls and young women. Systemic gender and sexual education problems in Latin America, including misinformed sexual education and harmful gender norms and stereotypes, contribute to sexual violence, unplanned pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases among young women and teenage girls in Latin America. Latin American communities, healthcare, law enforcement, and legal systems are urged to support vulnerable pregnant girls and young mothers.
